Comète
From Les Exclusifs de Chanel
Eau de Parfum · 2024
Room for several wears.
Hand-filled from an original bottle into a Cabinet Noir vial, under our own label. Cabinet Noir is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Chanel.
The composition
Comète opens with a soft cherry blossom accord, lightly sweet and faintly fruity, lifted by a clean, airy sparkle. Iris comes forward in the heart, cool and velvety, while heliotrope adds a gentle almond warmth. White musk draws it together into a smooth, powdery haze.
The effect is polished and tender at once, like fine face powder on warm skin. A natural choice for anyone drawn to iris, and for those who prefer their florals soft and hazy.
How it wears
Comète is soft and close, so it suits daytime, the office and warm evenings. The cherry blossom and airy sparkle are brief; most of the wear is iris and heliotrope over musk, sweet and almond-like, which reviewers often liken to cosmetic powder. Parfumo voters rate its longevity a little above its sillage, and it reads as hazy rather than loud.
Compared with
- MisiaChanel
- Another powdery iris in Les Exclusifs de Chanel. Fragrantica's review notes that Misia sets its iris with violet and a little rose, while Comète wraps a brighter, softly metallic iris in almond-sweet heliotrope.
- CoromandelChanel
- Its Les Exclusifs sibling in our catalog. Coromandel is an amber built on patchouli, incense and white chocolate. Comète is the lighter and more floral of the two, powdery iris and heliotrope over musk.
