The composition
Ink Mark is built on sandalwood, warm and creamy from the first minute. White incense runs through it with a clean, mineral coolness, closer to ink drying on paper than to smoke. Rose and magnolia add a light floral softness, and amber carries the wood into a smooth, glowing trail.
The mood is calm and unhurried, a milky wood with a dry, papery edge. It is a good one to try if you like sandalwood, gentle incense, or fragrances that feel composed and meditative.
How it wears
Ink Mark is calm enough for the office and soft enough for an evening, and Fragrantica voters spread it across the year with a slight lean toward fall and winter. Some reviewers note a brief sharp lift at the first spray before the creamy sandalwood settles in. Parfumo reviewers find it lighter than its woody notes suggest, and say the drydown turns to a quiet rose and amber that stays close to the skin.
Compared with
- Santal 33Le Labo
- The comparison reviewers make most often. Santal 33 is drier, with cardamom, violet, cedar and a leathery edge. Ink Mark is creamier and warmer, with rose and a soft white incense in place of the leather.
- Tea StormLouis Vuitton
- Its sibling in the Journey to China trio, built on lemongrass, rose and a honeyed tea accord. Tea Storm is fresh and green for warm days; Ink Mark is the woody, creamy one.
- Moon TaleLouis Vuitton
- The trio's floral, with raspberry, peony and jasmine over a powdery musk. Moon Tale is sweet and bright; Ink Mark keeps its rose and magnolia quiet behind the sandalwood.

Questions about Ink Mark
What does Ink Mark smell like?
Ink Mark is a creamy sandalwood fragrance with white incense, a little rose and magnolia, and amber. Louis Vuitton drew it from Chinese calligraphy, and reviewers often describe a dry, papery impression rather than dark ink or smoke.
Was Ink Mark only sold in China?
At first, yes. Louis Vuitton launched Ink Mark in China in October 2025 as part of the Journey to China trio, then released it more widely in August 2026. In the US it is sold on louisvuitton.com and in selected Louis Vuitton stores.
What concentration is Ink Mark?
Louis Vuitton's own page does not state a concentration for Ink Mark. Decanters and resellers sell it as an Eau de Parfum, and that is how we list it.
