When Tom Ford launched its Private Blend line in 2007, a 50 ml bottle cost $165, Now Smell This reported at the time. Tobacco Vanille, one of the first twelve, was $205 for 50 ml when Kafkaesque reviewed it in 2013, and Tom Ford sells it at $300 today. The house price is only one of three prices a bottle has. The same bottle also sells new at stores outside the house's own shops and authorized retailers, which is the gray market, and it changes hands between collectors. This report sets the three side by side for 14 of the most wanted fragrances, in US dollars, on 22 October 2026. The short answer: the typical gray market price runs 18% to 49% under house retail, and the lowest runs 38% to 60% under. Personal sales mostly sit 45% to 60% under. The 70 ml Baccarat Rouge 540 is the exception, with a typical gray market price above the house's own.
How to read these prices
Every figure is for a full bottle, in US dollars before shipping and tax, as of 22 October 2026. Retail is the house's own US price. Gray market means new bottles sold by stores outside the house's own shops and authorized retailers; personal sales are what collectors ask and sell for. A range runs from the lowest price to the typical one, as the price check shows it, and each percentage is measured against the house price for the same size.
Prices outside the house move every day, so each section links to that fragrance's live price check. This is the first edition of a monthly report. November's edition will show what changed.

MFK sells the 70 ml at $360. On the gray market the 70 ml starts at $225, 38% under retail, but its typical price sits above the house's, so compare before you buy. What the gaps mean for a buyer
In percentages, Delina, Green Irish Tweed, Oud Wood and Acqua di Giò show the widest gaps to retail; the typical prices for Ombré Leather and Sauvage sit closest. In dollars the gaps are largest on the Creeds, where a gray market bottle can cost $200 to $280 less than at the house.
A gray market bottle is new but bought outside the house's own shops and authorized retailers, and a bottle from a collector comes from another person, so buy from a seller you trust. If you have not worn the fragrance for a week or so, a decant costs far less than any of these bottles and tells you whether you want one.
